Your Weekly Reset | Reflecting on the past 18 months ๐Ÿ“…

Do you remember where you were in March of 2020?

I had so much hope for what would be our largest to date, 2020 She-Suite Summit. I recall hearing about this "COVID thing"... but didn’t really pay it much attention. Yet, on March 11th COVID was officially named a global pandemic. Our in-person She-Suite Summit was scheduled for Friday, March 13th. Suddenly, everything I had planned came to a screeching halt.

Can you recall a time in your life when you realized that what was, would never be? I wrestled with feelings of deep disappointment, embarrassment and overwhelm. Yet, I had a sweet sister friend, Arlena, who reminded me in my moment of panic that I was built for this crisis (This is why we need our sisterhood!). She reminded me of my past experience in crisis communication, and encouraged me to seize the crisis as our opportunity.

Right now, you may be feeling discouraged about what could have been versus what life looks like today. No matter if it is personal or professional, I get it. Let me encourage you to embrace this opportunity to shift your mindset. A lot has happened within the past 18 months, I’ll share a few highlights as we connect each Sunday.

The exciting part of the story is that within one year of March 2020, we went on to triple the attendance and reached more than 10 countries around the world with the 2021 She-Suite Summit. As my friend Johnny C. Taylor Jr. shares in this week’s She-Suite Podcast, what we all thought would be ‘The Great Pause’ actually turned into ‘The Great Reset’.

This morning I want to just take a moment to ask… how have the past 18 months of changes reset you, for the better? Instead of fixating on how things used to be, and wishing to rewind… how have you embraced this reset mindset? The practice of resetting is more than just taking time to step away, or practicing self-care. I want us to view the concept as a holistic, fully-centered practice that blankets all aspects of life, work included.

I hope this week’s Reset leaves you feeling both refreshed and encouraged to face this week's challenges head on.

You’ve got this!

to Win Your Week

Want a quick, easy way to help reset your body each day? Drink more water! It may seem like a no-brainer, but drinking water first thing each morning can help to quickly rehydrate your body after a night of sleep. Before reaching for that coffee mug… fill up a tall glass of water, and recharge your system.

Did you know that our brains are made up of about 73% water? It’s not only a vital nutrient for every cell in our bodies… but can actually aid in focus and concentration. Cheers to H2O!
